We recently hosted the 2021 President’s Leadership Seminar, which is sponsored by the GTCC Foundation. This semi-annual seminar is designed to engage GTCC’s emerging leaders and those serving in leadership positions with national and statewide experts, focusing exclusively on community college philosophy, issues, programs, policy, and leadership. Participants are nominated by their colleagues or managers to participate in the seminar.
This seminar is traditionally a week-long event, but due to COVID was condensed to 3 days. The hybrid program consisted of both in person and virtual speakers. The sessions included presentations from leadership experts, community leaders, GTCC staff and the NC Community College System. Additionally, we were also very proud to host the President of the NC Community College System Office, Dr. Thomas Stith III, who was the keynote speaker for the program’s closing luncheon.
The coordinator of the program, Dr. Jackie Greenlee (Director of Organizational Development) had this to say regarding her experience at The Conference Center: The room layout and the considerations for socially distancing protocols were excellent! The food was excellent and the options over the three-day period were amazing! The participants and facilitators felt safe and comfortable. Everyone was courteous, respectful and very accommodating. This event had previously been held at a local hotel. Now, I can't imagine going anywhere else but The Conference Center at GTCC! The facility, the service, the people, the catering, the location - all quite impressive! Teresa is wonderful to work with and she and her team EXCEEDED all expectations! This is a wonderful venue! I highly recommend this facility for your next conference or meeting. Beautiful building and surroundings and most of all - impeccable service!
