Campus Design

The Conference Center at Guilford Technical Community College is located inside the Business & Industry Building on the Donald W. Cameron Campus in northwestern Guildford County near the community of Oak Ridge. The 94,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility opened in the fall of 2014 and is also home to the NC Center for Global Logistics. In addition to housing The Conference Center and NCCGL, the building includes a full-scale warehouse outfitted with the latest in warehousing and distribution equipment, industrial training flexible lab spaces to accommodate potential training for new and expanding industries, classrooms and a variety of programs to support the logistics and other high tech industries in the Piedmont Triad.

Designed by international architectural firm Perkins Eastman, the building reflects the natural landscape of the surrounding area. The stone and glass exteriors and interiors, featuring ample natural lighting and large glass walls, provide a natural progression from the landscaped campus into the lobby, conference center, and classrooms. The Business and Industry facility is the flagship building of the GTCC Cameron Campus. It is also the first of GTCC’s buildings designed to meet the LEED gold specifications and its overall fit and finish set a new standard of excellence for GTCC.
