This month we’re highlighting the 2022 LatinxEd Summit, the first in-person annual statewide summit from LatinxEd, which gathered Latinx leaders and education champions to learn about the current state of Latinx education in North Carolina.
LatinxEd is a non-profit educational initiative in North Carolina, whose mission is to invest in Latinx leadership and expand educational equity and opportunity in the state. Kick-starting the event with a cocktail reception at The Clubhouse, the subsequent 2-day summit focused on the current state of Latinx education throughout NC. The Auditorium served as the main meeting hub where attendees were able to share their ideas on how to boost educational equity, and focused on the needs of Latinx children and families within the state. Various Latinx and Hispanic organizations gathered to collaborate and put plans into action within the education sector. Guests were also able to enjoy a wide variety of panel discussions and presentations, offered within our various breakout rooms, from community leaders working in schools, outreach programs, local and state organizations, and philanthropic entities that serve the community’s educational needs.
The summit’s closing day was also the start of Hispanic Heritage Month, which goes on from September 15 to October 15, to celebrate the history, cultures and contributions of Hispanic American citizens. The month-long event plays tribute to the generations of Hispanic Americans who have influenced and enriched the nation and society.
Attendees enjoyed a wide variety of meals provided by our exclusive catering partner Plain and Fancy Catering, and were treated to cocktail receptions, where they could network and further discuss the issues facing the community.
