The Piedmont Triad Education Consortium (PTEC) has been a long-time patron of The Conference Center at GTCC, and we wanted to share about their programs. PTEC is a collaboration of the eighteen K-12 school districts in central North Carolina and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro that offers Professional Development (PD) for educators.
Throughout the school year, training sessions are held in our Classrooms, Business Resource Center, and our Truist Oak Ridge Rooms. Routine Superintendent Meetings are also held in The Clubhouse at Cameron Campus. PD Sessions include Aspiring Principals Institute, Reading & Comprehension, Math Vocabulary, Writing Skills, and one of the most popular sessions, Chaos to Calm, to name a few.
The year culminated with the Administrative Assistant Luncheon/Superintendent Job Alike Event in April, where superintendents showed their appreciation for all of the assistants’ hard work throughout the year.
Also, this is the first year that PTEC has held their First Annual Auxiliary Services Conference at The Conference Center. Topics included school safety, transportation, cyber-attacks, and high school athletics – Title IX. According to Mary Ensley, Office Manager and liaison with The Conference Center, “Linda (Justice) is such a team player with PTEC and executes our events perfectly.”
Call us at 336-819-2052 if we can assist you with your Professional Development Training.
