Ever wonder what happens behind the scenes to ensure you are receiving delicious and high-quality catering from our exclusive catering partner? Our sales team recently participated in a menu tasting with our partners, Wright Brothers Catering Group (formerly Plain & Fancy Caterers) of High Point. We sampled some of the new items on our menu and we know you are in for a tasty culinary experience at your next meeting!
For the first course of our tasting, we enjoyed one of the new appetizers of Roasted Shrimp Naan Bread Pizzas with a Basil Pesto & Goat Cheese with a Roasted Red Pepper Coulis Drizzle. Other first course items included Fried Green Tomato on a Pimento Cheese Crostini (a classic hors d’oeuvre) and Spanakopita with Spinach & Feta, a new Enhanced break item. We also got to try the Potato Latke Bites which are included as an option on our new Bistro Brunch Buffet and trust us when we say- you have GOT to order those on your next visit!
Several main course dishes were tested next. From the new Latin Inspiration Buffet, also on our Hot Buffet menu, we tasted the Beef Barbacoa in an Ancho Smoked Paprika Sauce. If you like a little spice, this is the entrée for you! From that same menu, we enjoyed Cuban Style Yellow Rice, which was a comforting side dish. We also enjoyed Shredded Pork Carnitas which is a new entrée selection on our Fiesta Taco Bar and Basil Pesto Chicken, an entrée option on the Build Your Own Hot Buffet.
Continuing around the globe, we tasted another new item on the Taste of Thai menu, which was the room temperature Udon noodle dish with Bell Peppers, Broccoli, Baby Corn, and Water Chestnuts in a Ginger Scallion Sauce. Guests will have a choice between warm Jasmine Rice or the room temperature Udon noodles. Both will be excellent choices!
We were running out of room but there were also a few composed salads to try, to include the Calabrian Potato Salad with Olive Oil, Red Wine Vinegar, Oregano, Green Beans and Tomatoes and the Sicilian Potato Salad with Capers, Tomato, Olive Oil and Fresh Herbs. Both were delicious but the Calabrian won the prize!
There was still dessert to try, and you cannot go wrong with Tiramisu Trifle, which is now an option on the Taste of Italy Buffet, and we also got to sample the Trail Mix Clusters. The clusters are a new Classic Break Option made with Cranberries, Flax Seed, Sunflower Seeds, Chocolate Chips, Almond Butter, and Cinnamon, tossed in Shredded Coconut. These seemed way too good to be a healthy treat!
