This month, we would like to introduce our newest team member, Jonathan Powell, Conference Center Technology Support Specialist.
JP, as he prefers to be called, started with us in September, and it feels as if he has been part of our team for much longer. In his role, he will assist our conference attendees with a wide range of audio-visual services, such as setting up on-screen presentations in the auditorium and break out spaces, equipping presenters with lapel or hand-held microphones, and creating event streaming services for those who are participating virtually.
Originally from New England, and most recently from Arizona, he brings several decades of experience to this role, having worked as an audio-visual specialist with colleges and universities in Arizona, as well as with broadcasting and corporate event support. He is a Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) and maintains this by attending periodic professional development trainings in the field.
JP says that, for his own entertainment (and therapy), he enjoys playing music. We hope you get to meet him on your next visit here!
