On Friday, October 13, 2023, the Community Health Coalition hosted a “School Meals for All” North Carolina Town Hall meeting, which focused on addressing ongoing problems and solutions for food insecurity for children cross the state.
Approximately 35 participants were treated to boxed lunches in Truist Oak Ridge Room CD prior to a panel discussion and Q&A session that included representatives from state and local government, public health agencies, parents, and children. The meeting space was set with round tables and chairs in a “crescent” style for a more comfortable view of the panel.
The meeting was also live-streamed for a virtual audience, and our Technology Support Specialist assisted with arranging for appropriate hardware to accommodate this format.
Several local news outlets attended the meeting, and you can learn more about the event by visiting the Carolina Peacemaker article link here. To learn more about The Community Health Coalition’s School Meals for All NC, please visit their website here.
