On January 31, 2023, GTCC announced a partnership with the North Carolina Federation of Advanced Manufacturing Education (NC FAME) that will offer opportunities for pursuing careers in STEM-related fields in manufacturing and will provide a two-year, debt-free associate degree. The goal of the program is to equip students with the skills required for the rapidly-evolving manufacturing landscape. Four companies in the Triad are joining the partnership: Jowat Adhesives (Archdale), MasterBrand Cabinets (Lexington), Toyota Battery (Liberty), and ZIEHL-ABEGG (Greensboro).
