In May, we had the pleasure of hosting our returning friends from the Public Health Preparedness and Response Team at the NC Department of Health and Human Services for their annual PHP&R Symposium. With a focus on promoting and protecting the public’s health, The Conference Center at GTCC served as the perfect venue for this 2-day event, which offered many plenaries and breakout sessions for attendees to enjoy.
Kick starting the Symposium in the Auditorium, which seats up to 250 guests in a fixed Classroom Style setting, the room served as the ideal location for leaders, experts, and stakeholders across the system to share purposeful ideas and strategies within the field of Public Health in North Carolina.
Breakout sessions focused on inciting inspiring conversation took place in Classroom 130/131, a comfortable meeting environment which can seat up to 70 guests in Classroom Style, with multiple windows that allow for generous natural lighting. Featuring sound-proof partitional walls, this space can transform into 2 separate rooms seating over 30 guests each.
The Truist Oak Ridge Rooms served to showcase the full flexibility of The Conference Center while being used for both breakout sessions and as a dining room. But, how? Retractable air walls allowed the team to transform the space between sessions. These walls help the Truist Oak Ridge Rooms flex to combinations of one, two, or four separate rooms.
Lastly, the Pre-Function Space served as the ideal location for guests to network over lunch. A wall of windows lets in plenty of natural light in this space which gives the area an open and relaxing feel, perfect for guests to interact over a delicious lunch provided by our exclusive catering partners Wright Brothers Catering Group. With drop-down screens, projectors, and integrated sound, the space can host meals, presentations, and even vendor exhibit halls making it an ideal networking location for any event.
